Who Needs it?

The power went out, it's probably going to be out for a while, I'm glad I decided to take a bath, now I can relax in the dark. I hear a knock, it's Simon so why not let him in, it's not like he can see me. Simon: "Danny wants to know if you want to be a part of the ghost telling stories while the power's out." Me: "Sure, I'll be right out... hey can you actually hand me my towel?" He hands it to me and I cover up but make the mistake of not putting something down so I won't slip on the tile.

But since I forgot, I slip and Simon ends up catching me, awkward ey?

Simon: "Gotta be more careful next time." Me: "Thanks." I'm a little embarrassed but hey, what can you do. Simon helps me out so I won't fall again and I go and get dressed. After that we all tell stories of urban myths, ghost stories, the works.

One that I remember loving as a child was when a bride and groom played hide and seek and the wife hid in the back trunk of an old car they had except she accidentally locked herself in the trunk. They did a search for her, years passed and one day the father decided to open the trunk and there she was, all bones in her wedding dress.

After the stories DB goes to bed while me and Simon talk in my room. Me: "So why'd you come all the way down here?" Simon: "I had 1k in my pocket from my check at work. I didn't want to go home so I just got a flight and escaped. I really needed this today, plus I needed to say sorry to you. Over the phone just wouldn't have cut it."

Me: "Sorry for what?" Simon: "For the way I treated you the day before you left." Me: "Eh, don't worry about it." Simon: "But I do... and for the record, me and Caren broke up.. permanently." Me: "When?" Simon: "A couple of days after you left." We chuckle. Me: "I'm glad you're all better now... I think." Simon: "Yeah, I am." There's only one candle lit in my room and Simon gets up and puts it out. Me: "What are you doing?" Simon: "Just trust me..."
