My Redeemer

My Redeemer

A Poem by Ari
"

Wanting what everyone has.

"
Love me like the stars you are,
Bright,
Guiding me through aphotic obituaries.

Love me like the wind,
Flow me away to the extremes,
Let me feel.

Love me like the ocean,
Taming fire,
Rescuing natural survival.

Love me like the blind,
Hear the beauty within me,
Within my soul.

Love me like the incarcerated,
Protect me,
From the very dangers of my own demolishing.

Love me like the incapacitated,
No lust between your loins,
Only genuine.

Love me like the smile you have,
Mixed with feeling and curves,
Each dimple held so sacred.

Love me like the eyes I have once seen,
Curing me,
Of insightful disease.

Love me like the death for you have swallowed,
The forever present,
The permanent future.

Beautiful poem. It captures you from the very beginning and you basically flow through the rest of it in a dream, enthralled by the wondrous imagery and tone. I hate love poems usually but this is such an original way of expressing the longing to be loved that all mankind feels. I particular enjoyed the smile stanza, and the line "Guiding me through aphotic obituaries". It is very unique, like every other line in the poem, well that and I love the word aphotic, it's one of my favorites. Well done with this.
