The Way It IsA Poem by AriBased on a true story
Life taught me not to trust,
Until proven trusted. Life taught me how to find, Those guilty until, Proven innocent. Life taught me, How to live above the influence. Life told me, That the definition of a true friend, Is far more complex. Life told me that everyone, In the world hates me, Why, I'll never know. Life proved me right, When it said I would, Never be happy, Never find or keep true love. I was set out to hate myself, I was born to be a martyr. I was destined to die in agony, And designed to be alone. I come across as strong, Its true that I'm independent, witty, That uses my wisdom to its full potential. But on the inside, I'm a needy little girl, Clamoring, Tormented, To be loved. For my world is in a haze of confusion, Too many mind games as a babe, Stuck in an illusion, Whats right, Whats wrong. Life taught me, How not to look decayed, Even on the worst day. For my path is set for me. No matter how many passerby's, I want to come with me, My fate is only set for one. For my path leads me down a road, Where I am ambushed, Set on fire with no rescue. Every time, Every day, I must burn alive, Waiting, For the flames to die out. Once when I am to a crisp, I peel the dead skin, In grief, Unbearable pain, hurt. For I only trust myself, To heal myself, For anyone else, Healing me, Is healing me with great poison, Set out for tragedy. How I wish, To be with him, With her, Friends with them, Family like theirs, Smart like them. Common sense is unknown to me, Living life is beyond reach, How easy, This is not to say. © 2010 Ari |
