ArianaA Chapter by TsukikoRcno"Where could he be, he should be here by now" thought ariana as she sat at a small table with two chairs, one for her and the other for her boyfriend. They have been dating ever since they were in 8th grade. She was 19 and her boyfriend, jon, was turning 20 that year. It was October 16, 2010. Jon was supose to meet ariana at this restraunt for their aniversary, but as ariana waited and waited she started to think that he stood her up...again. Ariana could tell their was something wrong with him cause he acted so strange the past few days. It was almost like he was avoiding her and then running off someplace in a hury. "Maybe i should just leave...I'll just call him tonight i guess" she thought as she got up from her chair. she grabed her pursed and took only a few steps toward the door before a tall figure walked in. He had brown hair and dark green eyes that seemed to shine. His eyes fell on ariana and a sideways smile grew across his face. Ariana stood there, her purse on her shoulder and her arms crossed. She looked at the man and his sideways smile. With a little smile she said "Well it's about time you get here jon. Do you no how long i've waited." "Sorry baby their was something that i had to do" jon apoligized. "What did you have to do that was more important than our aniversary?" Ariana spat out. "You'll see baby. Lets go sit down and eat first then i'll tell you." "Alright but you better not forget to tell me what you was doing." "Alright ba, no sweat i will. Just don't worry bout it" Ariana turned half way and looked at him from the corner of her eye about to walk back to the table. She stared at him for a few second then turned the rest of the way and walked back to the table with him following behind. She put her purse under her chair and sat down on the chair that was still warm from her waiting for jon. Even though she was still curious about what jon was doing before showing up she couldn't mention it. She didn't want to agervate him with asking but it was driving her crazy not knowing. She thought he might of been with another girl. She looked over him over and over trying to see if there was any clue he was with another girl, but there was no evidence. His hair was the same emo style it'd always looked like. He was dressed in a tux T-shirt. He always wore that shirt on days he wanted to remember but i couldn't think of a reason why today would be so speacial to want to remember. "I know it was our aniversary but he never wore it on our other aniversaries." I knew something was up but i didn't want to ruin our day with badgering him with questions. Jon finally broke the silence between them "You look beautiful Ariane," he said staring into her eyes. She wanted so badly to say "I woulda looked better if u woulda been on time" but she can never stay mad at him when he lookes at her like that, so she just did a "yea right" smile at him not knowing what to reply. He had his little sideways smile on and did a soft, low laugh, "I'm sorry for being late Ariana please don't be mad." Ariana didn't say anything she just sat there quietly staring at him with her lips pinched together and her eyes squinted. He looked at her squinting eyes "You know you can't stay mad at me. You love me too much," he said grinning. Ariana couldn't help but smile and laugh off the whole issue of him being late. It couldn't of been to bad that he was late. Besides she wasn't even hungry when she showd up, at least now she was hungry enuf to order something. After a while a waitress came to the table to take there order. Jon ordered them both a medium rare steak with garlic mash patatos, Ariana's favorite food. The waitress wrote everything down on a note pad she was holding in her newly manicured nails. She didn't look to happy to be here. She had an attitude when she brought us our drinks. I was just hoping she wouldn't ruin my day. At 4:30pm they ordered and it was 5:00pm when we finally got our food. After dinner Jon left a small tip on the table and payed for the bill. They walked outside into the parking lot and walked toward a maroon 1996 Chevy Silverado. The truck was Jon's. "Ey ba how did u get here anyway. I know you didn't walk," he stared at me kinda wondering if i acctually did walk. We were six miles from my house he should know i didn't walk that far in this dress and high heels. "I got my cousin to drop me off. She was heading somewhere anyway." "Oh. The same cousin you share that appartment with?" he asked while getting into the drives side of the truck and i got into the passenger side. "Yea thats the one. It's the only cousin i ever talk about anyway," I laughed. "You know you always talk about this cousin but i've never met her." "Are you saying i'm lying bout having a cousin," I asked with one eye brow raised at him, but it was more of a statement then a question. "I never said that," he did his sideways smile "i'm just saying we've been dating a long time when u gunna let me met her. "We'll my cousin don't like meting new people. Besides she is always to busy with her husband." "She's married? How old is she?" "She's a year older than me. She got married last year and you woulda been able to met her at the wedding if you didn't have to go to that family thing you goto every year." I replied giving him a sideways look. He knew what i ment. Every year around winter he goes to a family thing but he never lets me come. I don't even know his parents or know anything about them. He said i wasn't ready to go to his family stuff. I don't know what he ment by it but oh-well. "Ba don't start that, you know the only reason i don't let you come is so my family don't scare u away from me." he started the engine of the truck and backed it out of the parking lot "Like i've told you before, there's a side of me i don't want you to know about yet but soon enuf i'll let you come okay?" he grabbed my hand that was on the armrest of my seat. "Okay ba but we've been dating a long time, don't keep me waiting to long. I wanna be able to walk with out a walker when i met ur parents," i said with a smile He smiled back "Okay baby i promise." He turned the stearing wheel of the truck left down a dirt road. I knew we were heading toward the place we first met. The rest of the ride was silent exept for the country music playing on the radio. © 2010 TsukikoRcno |
