I remember

I remember

A Poem by Tsuche Tashio Lady of the West

I remember the way you touched me,
the way you looked into my eyes,
as though I were your everything,
making me feel like I could fly.

Those moments, when I felt like your wish come true,
as though I was utter perfection.
When you held me in you arms, an action long overdue,
Imbuing me with your thrilling affection.

Every tear you made me shed,
I should have collected,
To show you all of the pain I bled,
When you went against the one you protected.

What happened to forever,
seems that it ended long ago.
Our relationship was a difficult endeavor.
Things were uneven instead of quid pro quo.

Do you finally comprehend
the emotions I've tried to portay with my words?
No longer to your whim will I bend,
I am beyond your decree of, "Women should be seen, not heard."

Definately not the typical love poem. I love the wording and the flow, and of course the meaning of it all.

Boy have I been there. You conveyed it marvelously. I look forward to reading more of your work.
