He loved her

He loved her

A Poem by Tyler Bryant

He loved her.
By Tyler Bryant

He loved her more than a fat kid who loves cake. That metaphor we've all known since we were eight. He wanted a chance to show her past he could destroy the pain with something great. Yet she stole HIS heart on the very first date, so fast he never noticed it was late. He stayed up showing her there's more to love than hate. That there's such a man who won't discriminate. He loved her for flaws no matter how short of perfection she falls. He often wondered should he go for it all? He was living life on a whim taking chances without ever knowing where to begin. He gave it his everything always running him thin. He never cared his love had no end. He made mistakes, I guess he just couldn't win. One day she left leaving him out on a limb, with no answers to his question, where did all this begin? It didn't matter she was special to him, fate has a weird way of bringing things to an end.
