Insomnia (My mind)

Insomnia (My mind)

A Poem by Nosyt
"

Wrote this just now at 5am on a sleepless night, its decent but nothing is really great about it, so any suggestions would be helpful.

"

As I lay here waiting for my mind to rest,
It instead races, failing at this test.
I close my eyes in an attempt to force it to stop,
But it only causes my minds eye to take control up top.
As I violently thrash to my side and loudly take a new breath,
In hopes my minds vivid visions take a temporary death.
However my mind just continues to navigate through this dreamscape,
My mind just continues to wander, while I lay here and anticipate.
In annoyance I jolt to another position,
And in return my mind takes a whole new transition.
As I look through my dark room with cloudy eyes and wish for sleep,
The same thing treading through my mind continues to creep.
How do I get this to cease, how can I get my mind to leave this place?
How can I get some sleep tonight, instead of seeing this face?
Deep down, I really don’t want this Insomnia to end, but I don’t want to believe it’s true,
Because, I can’t sleep tonight, because I can’t stop thinking about you.
