Chapter OneA Chapter by MeganJohnson's day started off normally, except for the truck in front of the house across the street. What is going on today?
The alarm clock sounds loudly, and a lazy hand slaps it off. A young teen climbs out of bed and stretches his muscles. This kid is Johnson Harty. Johnson was a tall, lean 16-year-old kid. He usually starts his days the same, but he knew that from the way he felt, something different was going to happen. Johnson brushed out his medium length black hair and put it in his usual messy ponytail. He brushed his teeth and got his clothes on, which consisted of his baggy navy blue jeans, black tight athletic top, and gray boxers, and a black belt to actually hold up his pants. He sighed softly and looked at himself in the mirror, looking back into his own deep purple eyes. Thinking randomly to himself, he grabbed his backpack and walked out the door with a "good morning" to his mother as he grabbed a piece of toast from the table.
When Johnson walked outside, he realised what was so different. The house across the street finally got bought, and a truck was in front of it getting unloaded. A tall woman with bright blonde hair and deep blue eyes was yelling at the movers, telling them to be careful. She looked to be about in her twenties. Johnson sighed softly and got into his black Mustang GT and drove by carefully. He made a mental note to stop by and give the new neighbors a proper greeting. Johnson pulled into parking spot number 139 and put up the sticker required. He sighed and grabbed his bag and started walking into the school. The school had to be at least 30 years old, and was in pretty good shape for its age. Being a junior in the school, Johnson knew it like the back of his hand. When Johnson got into the ancient building, he walked up the stairs and walked into the cafeteria. Just as he walked in, he nearly got knocked out. "Hey Johnson!! Your late." A boy about a year older than Johnson grinned. His name was Zach Harlem, a Senior in the school. He had short messy brown hair and vibrant green eyes. He always wore shirts that said "I'm not emo (I just have problems.)" and "People suck." Today he was wearing the emo shirt, which was black. The shirt he wore underneath was red and long sleeved, and he wore black jeans. He had his glasses on and had a big stupid grin on his face. Johnson sighed and sat at the nearest empty table. "Sorry Zach, I had to be careful of the neighbor's moving in and I got stuck in traffic... again." Zach blinked. "You have new neighbors finally?? Neat! Hey, maybe theres a girl your age..." he winked. "Why does he need a new girl when he has me?!" A really preppy voice sounded behind Johnson. Johnson twitched slightly. "Look Chantelle, I'm not your boyfriend anyways, so why do you care...? And besides, I'm not looking for any relationships right now after the terrible one I just got out of with Allie." The girl, whose name was Chantelle Deirdra, looked pissed. She had long light brown hair and bright red eyes. She always was one of those girls who wore the best and the "cool" clothes like Aeropostle and all those other stores that are overly expensive. She was wearing tight jeans and an abercrombie sweatshirt. "How dare you talk like it was Allie's fault?!" Chantelle yelled. Johnson and Zach both answered. "It was her fault." Johnson glanced at his friend and turned to face Chantelle. "Look, she dumped me because I wouldn't sleep with her... and now shes pregnant because she went with Jason. I'm not like him at all, and I'm not that kind of guy, so you might as well go find someone else to go after." Chantelle huffed. "And whats that supposed to mean?!" Zach was laughing loudly. "In other words, Chantelly, go be a s****y w***e somewhere else!!" Chantelle was about to say something. "I...you.... wh...." she did a frustrated/angry noise and stormed off. Zach wiped the tears from his eyes as his laughing died down. Johnson sighed softly. "I hate that girl. Her and her friends are always breathing down my neck... its quite annoying." Zach remembered something. "Hey, is Allie really pregnant with Jason's baby?!" Johnson nodded. "Yeah, and Jason dropped out because of it. Hes taking respondibility, but Allie wants nothing to do with the kid, so she says shes just gonna pop it out and give it to Jason." he said, taking out his math book and turning to his homework page. The bell rang, and it was now Johnson's study. Zach got up with his stuff. "Ouch, thats harsh. I'll see ya at lunch." he smirked, walking off. Johnson nodded, and started working on his math homework. Later on in the day, after his gym class, Johnson went to his fourth period english class. This was his only AP class, and it was one of his worst. He walked into the classroom to a bunch of chatter, as usual. Zach patted the seat next to him, grinning. "Wanna know who your neighbor is?" Johnson blinked, confused. "And who may this be...? And how do you know who it is already? Did you skip again?" Zach laughed. "I wish! No, shes the talk of the school! Everyone keeps picking on her, and shes supposingly a real cutie, as Tyler says. Sarah has her in most of her classes, but they don't talk." Johnson shrugged. "And why would I care?" Zach smiled. "Well, why wouldn't you?! Its your chance to get a girl." Johnson looked annoyed. "I told you Zach, I'm not looking." "Aww, thats a shame." A cute looking redhead said, wrapping her arms around Zach's neck from behind. Zach blinked. "Hey Sarah, what are you doing here...?" The redhead smiled. "I got switched, and so did the newbie." The redhead, or Sarah Talin, was Zach's girlfriend. She was just about two inches shorter than him at about 5'4". She was wearing a black sweater and a pair of black slacks with her famous pink tie and stud belt. Her brown eyes sparkled with curiosity. "So Johnny, shes your neighbor?" Johnson sighed. "Yeah, she is apparently... though I haven't even met her yet, and where is she...?" Zach looked around, just as Sarah did and shrugged. "No idea." they both said. Johnson rolled his eyes and got up and walked to the teacher, and with a pass, left the classroom to find the "newbie." It was mostly an exscuse to skip class, but it was also partially because he wanted to meet his new neighbor. What he came across, he'd never forget for the rest of his life. © 2008 MeganAuthor's Note
