Setting The Rules Straight

Setting The Rules Straight

A Poem by Whitney
"

In my world, the rules are made by me. Apparently.

"

A backwards symphonic melody
Replays subtly in my ear
I reminisce without conscious
As I've killed someone dear

Because apathetic hands
Mimick the true soul
Leaving bloody imprints
On a knife that's icy cold

Showcased for those who see
Staring at my work
Gorgeous corpse at endless rest
I leave wearing a mordant smirk

For beyond the countless stars
This place beyond the sea
Is mine, I make the rules
And none of this exists without me

Well as true as it may be that world belongs to you but this world belongs to me and I call that a good poem

I like this, it's simple yet it show's a yearning for power; and intangible need. Great job!
