Just something I had to write so I didn't go insane.

When darkness surrounds you
I would be the shining star
To lead you away to
Galaxies of light

When your world is gray
I would be the painter
To show you the colors of
The richness of life

When everything is fine
I would be the audience
To laugh out loud
At the silly things you do

But fate has conspired
And vows have been made

I liked it a lot. Due to the fact that I'm a novice at this kind of stuff I can't say what you did wrong since I didn't catch anything, but I can certainly say what you did right;
With all these words like "Galaxies of light" and "Richness of life" it really creates an image in your head, which helps bring the poem to life and helps you envision it
Also what I liked was the end
It didn't make anything to obvious and leaves it up for interpretation, which is good, more people can connect to it this way.
So good job, I really liked it.
