Birth By SleepA Poem by Josh W.
I was born an unwanted thing,
Then twisted to fit their image. Every time I wore their mask, A piece of me screamed, dying. Yes I died that day Do they even know what they murdered? More than a child, Less than the man, a monster was born, And it chased faster than I ran. But If they came to see me, Could they even spare the guilt? Could they see the good, In this creature that fury built? I was born an unwanted thing, Once theirs to abhor, Eyes once closed by their design But now I can sleep no more. © 2016 Josh W. |
