Journey To Rebirth

My journey to a new beginning

 

 

 

As I lay there in the silent peace of the night

Tired and broken after a long day’s fight

Laying down thinking as hour after hour flies

Trying desperately to drown my heart’s mourning cries

Dried tears in my eyes, I tried to ignore the sound

By putting away the memories that I just found

I sit up in a broken sweat, clutching my pounding chest

Eyes wide open as every heartbeat a painful crest

I look out the window, staring at the night sky

Wishing and craving to spread my wings and fly

Fly up and over the world, onto a soft cloud

Trying to forget the now broken promised that I had vowed

The star filled atmosphere, would bring me to peace

Because then this troubled mind would only worry the least

Back in my room, the unforgiving world brings me back

Still craving the missing piece of a broken heart that I lack

I knew that right now my wings were clipped and broken

Because of the lost pieces of me that were stolen

As the sunrise came over the bright horizon

Returning the old memories which I was fond

I walked outside to watch the beauty of the world

The beauty that brings hope and reason to the bold

It brings the vivid rays of lost hope to me too

Because now I know what I must try to do

For me to keep walking on this amazing Earth

I must start on my own journey to my rebirth
