my chest hurts under the weight

of memories everyone wants to forget

my mind hurts from the questions

i have to always ask myself to make sure

i appear 'normal' like you

my face itches from the mask

i've pasted over my features

and hidden myself too well

none of you believe me

or maybe you don't want to

and now i question

is it too late to change
