wild

wild

A Poem by Aislinn Gryffin ((Ashes))

keep your distance

and i'll keep mine

keep away from me

don't try crossing the line

try to fence me in

and i'll tear you apart

try to tie me up

and i'll rip out your heart

you can cage a bird

and still it will sing

but i am not a bird

i am a wild thing

and wild things can

never be tamed

never be owned

and never be named

we are killers at heart

with bloodred eyes

and our sharp white teeth

will be your demise

i am not your pet

and never will be

so watch from a distance

and don't try to love me

keep your distance

don't cause strife

keep away from me

and i might spare your life

i like how it is from the perspective of something wild. Almost as an answer to why certain animals just can't be tamed.

Pretty awesome. Dug the rhyme. Keep it up!

Nice work, TK. The surface meaning was nice, but the deeper meaning was beautiful. There's truth and even a deeper truth in this piece. I really enjoyed it.
