Dancing alone in the freezing rain

Dancing alone in the freezing rain

A Poem by Aislinn Gryffin ((Ashes))
"

"

Dancing alone in the freezing rain

on a cold full-moon midnight.

Can you tell i'm not entirely sane???

My hair is an auburn lion mane,

My eyes and laugh are wild and i'm

dancing alone in the freezing rain.

The moon seems to wax and wane,

As my feet pound a beat on the shingles.

Can you tell i'm not entirely sane???

Lightning splits the world in twain

and for a moment i stop, then once again i'm

dancing alone in the freezing rain.

On my cheek lies evidence of a mascara tearstain,

But i slashed away sorrow with a razorblade.

Can you tell i'm not entirely sane???

Now my cut wrists are bound with chain

and i stare at the white walls keeping me from

dancing alone in the freezing rain.

Can you tell i'm not entirely sane???
