Too Late

Too Late

A Poem by Aislinn Gryffin ((Ashes))

People are changing,

Everything's rearranging.

Life carries you away to a mirrored place

But you can't even recognize your own face.

Then they cover your eyes so you can't see

That you're precisely where you never wanted to be.

They hold you down

So they can remove your frown

And replace it with someone else's smile

That's sickly-sweet and vile.

They tear away your soul

And replace it with coal

To fuel the fire's

Towering spires.

When you escape it will be too late

Because they've already changed your fate.

You can't even get a new start

Because they've stolen your heart.

All they left is a garish scar

Visible from anywhere near or far.

No matter where you go in life

You'll never get anything but strife

Because no matter where you go

They see you as the foe.

And you can't say anything with lips stitched together

As you wander this world, silent forever.

i warned you that they'd change your fate

But you never listen and now it's too damn late.

wow Rea, could you ever write anything more amazing???
Tru shall return with avengence, and grief shall be but a small star outside of the galaxy of the heart,
never to much to deal with, but it always has a start.
My Tru will come back, with a beautiful life anew
she is my little blossom, bloom and feed off the writers dew.

I remember once I wrote a poem to myself, my inner Angie. That's what I used to call myself.

But then it's change, it's inevitable, and everyone's true colors come out.
and all that time that you'd been wishing that you could grow up, grow another year, you suddenly don't want that anymore because it's too much. Well, that's what happened in my case.

First two lines are very catchy, I'd say that this could make a good song.
