The Darkness of Night

The Darkness of Night

A Poem by Horse of a Different Color
"

Depression has rocked me on a couple of occasions which is when this was written.

"
These demons that plague my mortal soul,
I try to drown them in this bottle.
But i fear they will not stop,
I need to put an end to this vicious cycle.
The pain that swells inside of me,
Tears through my soul like a jagged piece of glass.
I feel as though i am standing alone,
In the middle of a storm, Raining all around me.
Ferocious wind with thunder and lighting,
Could this be real or is it those demons?
They follow me everywhere and everyday,
There is no surprise they could follow me here.
This faux world that is my delight,
I am only here every night.
With no one else do i share,
What has become my recurring nightmare.

There are some good jump off images. There are a few weak ones and some cliche'd ones.
Take the safety net off this thing and dig into the core of the s**t.
"Jagged piece of glass"
"everywhere and everyday"
some parts seem a manufactured fear, and lord knows, real fear cannot be manufactured.
Get down what you really have the fear and pain over and dump the old and used.

Down to the last element. THEN find out where your really venting from.

This is a SOLID starting point O Speed Racer of the Horse Paddock
But I know damn well what depression feels like and you have yet to let it really tear a hole.

ya Dig?
