I wrote this based off a girl I knew with a heroin addiction.

Is that you that I see
Crying all alone at night....
Realizing suddenly
that life is passing you by
You take another drag
You grab another bag
and lay your sorrows on the table
You see thru the glass at yourself and wonder why your life's just not a fable.

And I know that you know it's time for changes
and the only one that you can blame is...
you....

You're looking out the window..
watching the leaves as the wind blows.
"Oh how can I feel so free?
Let the waves just carry me
out to the open sea...
well that won't ever be.
If only I met my father,
I won't even bother
to let my arms bleed...
these needles will recede.
I'm so caught up in addiction,
pushed myself into love's affliction
just to soothe the pain...
Ever since I was a kid,
OH all those fucked up things I did
I just can't throw away....
No I won't be okay.....
I'll just lie here and shake"

And I know that you know it's time for changes
and the only one that you can blame is...
you....

Lying on the hospital bed..
Almost positive that you will pass away.....

that will calm the rain......
these scars will be a remembrance
of what's lying in the distance...
that will be the day,
that I will change"
well that day is today
