Playmate

Playmate

A Poem by Trixxxx

Out in the blazing heat of the sun,
My head throbs in pain,
As I seat beside the window pane,
Making my way back on memory lane.

I closed my eyes,
And saw the good ‘ol days,
Playing like strays,
As if there was no end in each and every way.

“One…Two…Three”,I heard.
“Ready or not here I come”,said the It playing hide and seek.
Some went up on trees, Others went down next road.
We all ran quick with a move so slick.

Colored rubber bands and garters,
Makes us jump higher than our frontdoors,
But, Can we ever forget the sticks and stones,
Which makes our neighbors roar.

And before dusk,
At an old store we ask,
Chips, sodas, colored ice pops;
Together we eat our favorite snacks.

Sweat and dirt,
Became the symbol of our bond,
We laughed while we teased,
Not wanting the fun to cease.

Suddenly, The clock strike 6,
As we heard our names being called,
From a familiar voice in a distant road,
We knew then it’s time to go.

I opened my eyes,
And looked up the sky,
I realized how time flies,
And some memories never dies.
