Little Sleepy Sausage Dog

Little Sleepy Sausage Dog

A Poem by Heather Bereskin
"

A poem about my dachshund

"
Little sleepy sausage dog,
snuggled on the bed.
Rest your little chocolate eyes,
lay down your lazy head.

Little sleepy sausage dog,
dream of scurry things,
digging tunnels or
flying on little wings.

Little sleepy sausage dog
I'll see you once you wake.
We'll wiggle and we'll giggle,
down by the sky blue lake.

I love this one. Loki the Sausage Dog deserves many more poems.

So cute! A friend of mine has a dachshund and this sounds totally like her dog. I like the mild rhyme scheme that bounces between the lines. It makes it flow and to me gives it even more a feeling of a "sausage dog."

Very good write!
