My Green Homelands

I sit amongst the Wiltshire green hills, when I need inspiration or any thing else that money does not buy, Mother Nature, she always provides.

Lolloping amid the hills of chalk green
Indigenous aromas wafting on breeze
Blue butterflies dancing the sun
At one, at peace with this stalwart one

Entwined in mystical powers that be
Cocooned at our Mother's mercy
The oracle of our inner most soul
She walks palm to palm wise and old
 
Taking in the drifting clouds
My abode, my childhood ground
As my cobbled life unfolds before me
She supplies my sage of muted muse

Sprawling before me those rolling hills
Held within the bosom of her mighty force
Upholding her promise betrothing this land
Sacred I take it covenant bound

My Dear Writing Friend From Across The Pond,
This muse is a prime example of why I find your works so enthralling. You with this colorful word tapestry have placed me there with you to smell, see, feel, and hear nature as she sings a melody that transforms us who seek her.
I loved your choice of word with your use of “stalwart”, a word that was unfamiliar to this writer. I have posted its definition below. A word that helped this piece of art pop with color!
My favorite line was “She walks palm to palm wise and old”, this made total sense to me. As usual a poem well worth the muse before my fire.

Well done. I enjoy pieces that give vision of the places that shape us and this one most certainly does. I loved the word choices here - bethroning, covenant and a few others which gave a really nice mix of old and sacred befitting the subject matter.
Reading this all I could think of was Basil Rathbone reciting "this sceptered isle".
