A Price Paid in Blood

A Price Paid in Blood

A Poem by Trikius

..Once upon a time in a slumy place on earth
A man gets off work not making nearly his worth
At the end of his day he's dirty and tired
And ready for home to be with his one true desire

He thinks to himself another dime in the bank
And maybe someday that vacation they'll take
As he reaches the car the clouds turn a shade of grey
Stan starts his way home to end his hard day

As he drives in the car he thinks of his wife
The love that they share, there wonderful life
He cant wait to get home and be in her grace
To hold her so tight,to kiss her beautiful face

Pulling into the drive he knows the time is near
To be with the woman he loves oh so dear
With a smile on his face and a pep in his step
Stan enters his place to a sound he could never expect

For from the bed that he sleeps the laughter of lovers fills the air
And the actions that drive there moans he is unable to bare
He falls to the floor as the tears flow from his eyes
And curses the devil that brought this to there joyous lives

How could this happen she said she loved me so much
But if that where true why does she feel another mans touch
He closes his eyes and preys he was still on his way home
But his wishing is interupted by another passoinate moan

A now fragile stan with his last bit of poise
Decides to stand up and end that terrible noise
He walks to the kitchen like a man at the end of his life
Then opens the bottom drawer to pick up a knife

He walks down the hall with his emotionless face
And opens the door to find them there in that place
That place where dreams were made, promises of forever
Where they would lie sleeping, growing old together

The lovers look up to realize there fate is made
The man tries to run but is soon met with a blade
But Stans wife does not move she stays still in disgrace
As she looks at her husband and sees the pain in his face

Her last words are spoken "We gave life are best"
Then stan steps forward stabbing his wife through the chest
She falls down beside her young lover on the floor
Stan drops the knife and opens the closet door

He removes his rifle placing the barrel under his chin
Then pulls the trigger with his toes putting stan's life at an end
Before you break a heart think of the cost of your fun
Because somtimes the price is paid in blood with a knife and a gun

True, horrible, deceitful and completely believable poetry here. I believe that this type of deception is the worst kind. When you have given your heart and soul to someone the very least you would like in return is theirs. You have managed to make this sound like a major International incident, which of course it is.

I love this. There is so many different types of emotion going on here. It's scary that this was the fate, but so beautiful how everything was laid out. Very well done.

Incredible. Terrible. Beautiful. And disgusting all at the same time. Good job, the emotions are portrayed well in this.
