Dreams, Obsession and FreedomA Poem by Tricia Mc
I once had dreams of being a beautiful poet
Those dreams were dashed & divided like a million stars In the night sky I had wished on again & again, sparkling and broken I have no regrets, for I know it takes losing everything you thought you needed to know what true freedom is I was always an unusual girl, one with a chameleon soul No moral compass pointing due North, no fixed personality Just a hunger for knowledge as wide & wavering as the ocean And if I said I did not dream for it to turn out this way I would be lying For I have an inner-fire for every experience & a life-long obsession with freedom I was born to be this way © 2017 Tricia Mc |
