It's The Thought That Counts

It's The Thought That Counts

A Poem by Tricessimus
"

I wrote this a while ago and found it again

"

It's the thought that counts

I bought my love a lotus flower

with perfect leaves and petals

it smelled of sweetest honey

but then I ate it whole

I bought my love a gilded ring

it shined with glitz and luxury

then it (accidentally) fell down my throat

was totally not my fault

I bought my love a little ferret

smoothest fur and cutest whiskers

that one is actually made of meat

anyway, he was probably a jerk

I bought my love a box of chocolates

I feel like you know where this is going

sorry for eating all your stuff

Starts out like a 17th century sonnet and ends up like George Carlin. Very funny. Would like to see more like it.

I wonder how much weight was gained by eating the ring...
I mean, I have heard the saying....I love you so much I could just eat you up...but there are limits...

this is a fun read,
j.
