Fall of One

Fall of One

A Poem by Trevor Comeau
"

Fall of Rome

"
The earth awoke
to the sounds so
familiar, a peace
only morning can bring.

No peace only silence
fell upon the earth this day,
Fires still raging
mothers still cried.

Wind sweeping up the
dust and ash.
The sun could not be seen.
How could it come to this?

This day passed into history
history turned it into legend.
The day a civilization fell.
Into fire and shadow.
Goodbye Rome
