Not You

Not You

A Poem by Treo LeGigeo
"

Love isn't always welcomed.

"
I thought there was a black hole,
In my chest, where others have a heart.
I've hurt so many and not cared at all,
But now there's a feeling which just won't part.

I see you standing there,
A victim you would have been,
But now I sit and stare,
Now I think differently.

Your innocence and your beauty,
The look you have in your eyes,
Took me back abruptly,
Took me by surprise.

You befriended me, unaware,
Then started changing me too.
I can't continue, no I can't bear,
To do what I planned to do.

Is this love no it cannot be,
Surely that couldn't come from,
Someone as heartless as me,
Or perhaps I'm wrong.

This I've never felt before,
What is it that you do?
I only know that I can't hurt you anymore,
No, not you.

What a thought provoking piece!!
I loved the flow, it seemed like it merely poured from a broken soul like water, very smooth and very powerful.
Love is such a hard subject , and such a cliche one aswell that it is often written in a very cheesy and overused fashion but this you have done so well, that it knocks everything ut of the water, this is pure indavdual talent. I loved it.

Love is always such a complicated subject with any person. The way it makes us feel...it can make us feel on top of the world or tear us down the the very depths of it. It can make us or break us. It all depends on how we let those emotions affect us personally and how we plan to play them out.

I love how this poem slowly descend from love to almost madness. The rhyming is spot on. The message is clear, unambiguous. This is an nice piece of work.

This is an interesting view of the other side of the coin so many people write about. The ever present a*s who breaks the hearts of the naïve suddenly finds love. Well written.

This pulled at me for some reason. The heartless really does have a heart. Somewhere in here a heart breaker can be forgiven.

This was a very sad poem, to me at least. It seemed like the subject of the poem is so used to hurting people but now some feeling has stirred within. Not quite love, but a conscience. The worst thing for the twisted mind. Thank you for writing this piece and entering it into my contest!
