I Am Winter

Inspired by song lyrics

I warn you, I'm blizzards by the dozen,
Each surface glassy ice and powder snow,
Frost, sleet, hail, and all else that is frozen,
Is all that I am, is all that I know.

It seems that she'd been with me since the bud,
With me before I existed at all,
She said she wanted love, she took my blood,
Her teeth in my vein, she drained all my soul.

Her breath is vanilla, part of her spell,
And I thought it would be mine to keep,
I gave her my heart, she took it as well, 
Like slipping into cold eternal sleep.

Lips on mine drank my warmth, she's the hunter,
I'm all that she left me, I am winter.

Beautiful!!! Really strong poem. Winter happens to be my favorite season, I think it is often times only categorized as blizzards and bitter cold. But I think it has the most personality out of all seasons! So I guess there is a plus side and beauty to being left as winter :) Also, I think this is something we can all relate too. Feeling vacant after you are too trusting with someone. Beautifully put.
