Stasis ChamberA Poem by Trenchcoat_PoetryKnowing what you want, but being powerless to do anything about it.Frozen in place, Unable to move. Stuck in a snapshot of life, I feel like I’m trapped in a
stasis chamber. But I’m not asleep. I’m wide awake. Watching the world pass me by, And unable to do a damn thing
about it. I witness my friends and their
bright futures, bittersweetly, That dream job has a desk where it
sits empty, waiting. Knowing there’s something wrong,
but no one will help, A forgotten commitment that shall seemingly
never be, broken. This is not New, New York. There’s no pizza delivery man, To accidently leaning back to hit
the button, to send me on my way. Though, I really wish he would. There are places I want to see, People I want to meet. But I’m stuck. Here. Unable to pass go and collected
that 200. They say you should never waste
your time, That you should cherish the
moments you have. But my time has come. I’m ready to turn that page, To start that next chapter. And you best believe, when that
day comes, When I can finally be free, and able
to spread my wings, Oh, how I will soar. But, for now. I’ll remain in my stasis chamber, letting that voice run out of
minuets. And in the cloak of night, as I
watch everyone walk by, I’ll whisper, “I’ll just, wait
here then…” © 2022 Trenchcoat_Poetry |
