Escape

Escape

A Poem by Trenchcoat_Poetry

I walk the darkened halls

Footstep’s echo in the dancing torchlight.

The distant memory of children’s laughter,

Gone now.

I know I’m not alone here,

And that’s what makes it worse.

These demons are after me.

I find myself running, looking for that exit sign.

But the monsters gain chase.

The scrap of metal down a concrete wall,

It’s behind me. Always right on my tail.
The consequences of my actions.

I tell myself that it’s just a game,

That I shouldn’t take it seriously, none of it is real.

But it is.

I’m Trapped. No way of escape.

Toréador, en garde chimes through the quiet.

A gentle tinkle of a music box that should signal the end,

But salvation never comes.

Dragged back, once again into the darkness.

When will I be free of this torment?

Forever waiting for my 6am.

I like this poem. I think I've had this same dream or one very similar. I was on some rather strong medication at the time though. I hate nightmares. Even the ones on Elm Street. My dreams are usually joyful and sweet with friends, fun and adventures. I have one that repeats where we are all driving in the snow to visit others at Christmas. I wake up exhausted from partying all night. It still beats being chased by Freddie. Great read.

This is good. I was wondering, is it based off fnaf(five nights at Freddy’s). To me it sounds like it could be even though I don’t have much experience with the game. If so it is cool that you could write that from that game
