Aragonia Felipo's MistakeA Chapter by TrekkieAragonia Felipo’s Mistake
September 4th (still), 2048, 8 : 5 9 "Damn it, we're gonna lose him!" "You shouldn't have left him in there so long." One cool, calm controlled voice -- "Right now, I really don't care whose damn fault it is, just as long as he lives!" -- the other's panicked, resentful. But she does not care about his life, all she cares about is hers, because if he dies it'll be her fault. If he dies, her life is forfeited. It is her fault, after all. "He needs blood." "Then get him some blood, damn it!" "Fine." Give him blood so he can live, it is not like it is your fault or anything that he's dying, nope, who would ever suspect that it is your fault he's dying because you left him in a room when you knew you could help him right then and there, but you did not, even when he was bleeding his bones dry, you did not help him, nope, nothing. Hook him up to life support, get him an IV, you can't lose two liters and blood and still live through it..."He's flat lining!" Yeah, you've made him into a vegetable, now he's catatonic, congratulations dears. Never mind, the machine’s beeping spasmodically again, you should be good. Hopefully. He’s alive, and brain activity is happening again. “YES!” She hugs him, and he growls and pushes away from her. “Fine. Make sure he wakes up, and get him some food. Wait ‘till he’s ready to be moved before introducing him to his partner.” ”Yes, sir.” She responds, smile tightening on her face until she is sure it will break. She hopes that the smile isn’t too fake. Finally, maybe for the first time in decades, he smiles back at her. “that is so twenty-first century.” He sweeps out of the room. He does not remember that it is still the twenty-first century, even if they’ve made a thousand different technological and phychological marvels since then. But then, he was a God. He was never required to remember anything. © 2009 Trekkie |
