Kelpie

Kelpie

A Poem by Trekkie
"

In Which I Rearrange The First Verse Several Times.

"

Like the depth-dancing
on the bottom of the lake
we remembered who your father was
you truly are your mother's son

Don't you know
that humans aren't supposed to mate
with kelpies?
Don't you realize
that humans are so very weak
and kelpies are so fierce?

You truly are your mother's son
dancing on the depths
on the bottom of the lake
Remember, we know your father

Because you know
Forever's just a lifetime
A little assonance, an alliteration
Realizing just as you plummet
to what you realize must be your death
you meet us and remember
who you used to know

On the bottom of the lake
depths, dancing, they're all the same to us
Fathers we remember
but you truly are your mother's son

About
I'm a convoluted trekkie who spends too much time procrastinating. I can see the Northern Lights from my house in the winter and I've memorized startlingly large portions of King Henry IV, part one. more..
