Day Dream 3

Day Dream 3

A Poem by Dante Thomas

Cotton mouth wrapped in itchy sheets
Asphyxiate myself with the fibers
Suffocating cocoon of self loathing and bad ideas
Wrapped up like a spider’s lunch just waiting for it to bite down

Building relationships on a rocky slope
Foundations held together with glue and string
A bubble of arguments and anxiousness
Abstruse little notes stuck on dead end signs

One sided conversations with the shadows on the floor
Sleeping in old rooms with ghost trespassing in the walls
Moonlight shining through casting apparitions on the ceiling
Taunting phantasms whispering distorted nothings in my ears

…...These walls are my own prison and they are closing in
