Look Past the Wall

Look Past the Wall

A Poem by Tree Bark
"

i'm not crying i'm just sweating through my eyes XP

"
There's a wall I built a long time ago,
it's there to keep people away from who I am inside.
It's where my conscious tells me what to do,
where I know what's wrong and right in the world.
I hide behind it, the miserable side of me there.
The puppet is the happy side of me, all fake.
I like it behind this wall, safe from the dangers of the outside world,
I'd never let people look past the wall I have built so strong.
You see, I made it out of steel and concrete with thick layers of each,
and it's where my secrets and past lay safe behind.
Some have cracked past it but getting no where near close to me,
there's locks and chains keeping people out, though some have passed.
I feel safer behind this wall, no one to hurt me,
there's been some intruders, but I shook them out of my world.
Who'd want to know the locked up side of me,
no one wants a depressed side of a girl.
I'd rather be alone on this side of the wall,
don't try to break me free, I like it here on this side.
I'm free here to cry, sulk, pout and so forth,
I don't have to hide these feelings here, I am free to be myself.
Don't cross the line either, it's there for a reason.
If you pass my wall, there's a line you don't want to cross.
Those who do never seem to make it out alive.
Why do you think I stay behind the line drawn so close to me?
God designed it for me to never cross it,
so that must mean no one else should cross it either.
I like being here, behind these walls I built so high,
it's designed to keep me safe from the others who want to hurt me.
Stay away from my wall,
I don't want it torn down after all these years.
The only one who will be able to pass my wall and be able to cross the line,
is the one for me, the one who will love me the way I am.
But the one for me is in a far away place,
I stay behind this wall so I don't make the wrong choices.
Not even my own parents will surpass this wall again,
they both betrayed me and I wont let them back in..
My best friends seem to know me deep down to the core,
and yet I still know they can hurt me and turn on me.
Stay away from the wall,
because I guarantee, no one will be able to cross it again...
