The Darkest Nights

The Darkest Nights

A Poem by Tree Bark
"

"

Take a stand for what you believe
or the darkness will always win
know your truth, others deceive
they will try to turn you on your kin

Never let others push you around
never give up, never back down
remember one thing when you get beat down
the strongest among you may not wear a crown

Never let them take your vision
Never let them destroy your conviction
when the time comes to make your decision
never succumb to pain or affliction

people come and people go
life's too short for you to mourn
on the darkest nights you stand alone
and cling to hope there will be a dawn

It's a great poem but poems don't always have to rhyme. :)

yeah sometimes we have to stand by our own truths come what may. There's a whole world of people out there who we have yet to meet. loved your last line especially. Thanks.
