Front-Yard

Front-Yard

A Poem by Blotter

Glittering flecks of sunlight

(caught like dazzling rainbows in action)

arc through the semi-urban sky

near sunset.

Man-made rain launched over-head,

ready to wet

our store-bought plants;

a gardeners charade.

My infant son laughs

at the chatter of the wind-chime,

seeming to sing a song

the false-rain keeps rhythm to.

In a repeat of motion,

a cycle driven by water,

the sprinkler continues

and my boy laughs.

I am happy.
