May ApogeeA Poem by BlotterMay 1st, 2013
Preparing for the dance;
the awkward and angry, the uncertain and excited. A downtown dance floor, a venue of avenues and commerce. Clad in black, geared-up in blue... full of doubt, and passion. Protest signs raised high great the outstretched reach of the slender baton. Like eager parents the assembled lenses wait to consume every drop. Now comes the stilted violence and hostile spit of language tossed like spears in battle. 364 days since the last dance and neither side has learned any new moves. Apogee in action. © 2013 Blotter |
