Act Like You CareA Poem by BlotterAct Like You Care I smile awkwardly, hang out in the corner, or something. Wishing the floor
would eat me alive, the room would reveal a new shadow to stand in. This never happens… much. mostly I just linger near
the fridge, or the back door, and listen. Then the fourth beer kicks
in (beer was invented by accident, they were hoping for Prozac) and I become a better
guest. This lasts until the sixth
beer… then I become the guest you wish you hadn't invited… if for no other reason than I just stop pretending… I guess that's the worst. © 2013 Blotter |
