An October shopping spree.A Poem by TraxlerFrom the collection, Sighs in a Shell By Tylor TraxlerI fell into you
And the chaos of your rhetoric Twisting me up like cable chords you were my sin in gracious Times My calm in troubles waters I fell into you like bad habits
Of an adolescent That didn’t seem so tragic
In our effervescence You were more like a shotgun bombshell In a fog, or haze of heaven Or an eleven, in the essence of the questions I was driven past the present, in the matter of a second
it took to breathe the message as my weapon What you want, isn’t what I need So, fall free, like an October shopping spree In the glee of summers hindsight When the wind settles, and the world fills with color I can’t fall into you, I don’t feel it anymore But I feel the shore, it waves and leaves Like the autumn days, with you before Twist me up like chargers and small talk Afternoons on the art walk, Skipping cracks in the sidewalk I think I’ll meet you in Montauk Where troubled waters, they all talk
