A pause in the passion.A Poem by TraxlerFrom the collection, Mono no aware By Tylor TraxlerI wrote you a letter, that you told me to send Right before I watched you, disappear ‘round the bend My thoughts to the paper, never seem to blend So I tore that letter up, and chose to make amends With the way the red reflected off highway signs And the shivers and shakes that sent up my spine Through the rivers and snakes, through bottles of wine You delivered a shake that quakes round my mind Faulty at my best, I recorded this from the chest And dialed your number, you told me to give it a rest And the rest is history, relenting itself This is an interlude between inhales, a pause in the passion, A slowed down method of steaming reactions To tell you one thing, once met with redaction I didn’t mean to divide us, didn’t mean for the fraction If you hear this, give it a second to breathe Let the static build, like a fucked up tv And if you hear my message, and still don’t love me Well that’s just how you feel, and that’s just what I’ll be
