The Great Divide Part 2: Faceless

The Great Divide Part 2: Faceless

A Poem by Travis Prino

Looking back can you see our faces?

staring at you but you were faceless

can you see how much this hurt?

even after all these years my eyes still burn

you left us alone with nowhere to hide

from the pain you placed on our doorstep and swept inside

it doesn't go away, it doesn't get better

I hope it breaks your heart to read this letter

cause today is a lot like yesterday

filling me with dreams that never stay

and today is a lot like yesterday

my broken dreams of you they never stay

looking back can you see our faces?

staring at you but you were faceless

can you see how much this hurt?

even after all these years my eyes still burn

I wake up with no one by my side

every morning I struggle just to open my eyes

tears that make me sleep have sealed them shut

though it seems to me this way I'm better off

cause today is just another day

waiting to crush me and brush me away

and today is just another day

I won't let you crush me and brush me away

it's over I'm done with you

looking back can you see our faces?

staring at you but you were faceless

can you see how much this hurt?

even after all these years my eyes still burn

it's over I'm done with you

it's over I'm done with you

we'll never say goodbye

never again cry

we'll never say goodbye

never again cry

it's over I'm done with you

looking back can you see our faces?

staring at you but you were faceless

can you see how much this hurt?

even after all these years my eyes still burn

because you became faceless to me.
