Burgundy Bliss

Burgundy Bliss

A Poem by Travis Prino

You said that you would never hurt me

now I'm lying in a pool of my own blood

that I spilt for you

that was spilt for you

and every word you say is misleading

but the silence cuts me like a razor

I would kill for you

I'd kill myself for you

we never let these feelings show

we never gave ourselves the chance to grow

and I'm dying in this burgundy bliss

for the love of blood I'll take this out on my wrists

you said that you would never hurt me

but I'm calling out your name to no avail

in the dead of night

I am dead tonight

and every word you say is misleading

but the voices tell me I am not alone

when the morning comes

see what you have done

we never let these feelings show

we never gave ourselves the chance to grow

and I'm dying in this burgundy bliss

for the love of blood I'll take this out on my wrists

this heart is beating so hard to keep me alive

but it's not working anymore

what have you done to me?

what have I done to myself?

this pain never goes away

it will never go away

we never let these feelings show

we never gave ourselves the chance to grow

and I'm dying in this burgundy bliss

for the love of blood I'll take this out on my wrists

and everything will finally go away.
