Portrait

A Poem by Travis Prino

I'm walking away

from the havoc you create

cause you leave me no choice

when you drown out my voice

with your incompetent words

that sound so absurd

and I'm leaving behind

the existence I called my life

take me away

someone, anyone

take me away

someone, anyone

take me away

someone, anyone

and if not today

then maybe tomorrow

I'm walking alone

past the place we called our home

and now I'm breaking down

wondering what you're doing now

are you with somebody else?

filling all the gaps you felt

when I walked out on you

but I'm the one left melancholy blue

take me away

someone, anyone

take me away

someone, anyone

take me away

someone, anyone

and if not today

then maybe tomorrow

I'm walking no more

secretly silently longing for

this rope around my neck

to bring me to my end

so all the suffering

will cease to feel like anything

and all the blood I shed

will paint my final portrait red

take me away

someone, anyone

take me away

someone, anyone

take me away

someone, anyone

and if not today

then maybe tomorrow

maybe it'll be alright

maybe I should die tonight

maybe it'll be alright

maybe I'll just die.
