Picture Frames and Melodies

Picture Frames and Melodies

A Poem by Travis Prino

Once upon a time...

back in the day

before everything was gray

there was just me and you

we had a vision

a dumb superstition

that we would be together forever

I was so stupid

deep down I knew it

she would be gone too soon

picture frames tell the stories

of a life that used to be

and melodies play softly

but the words we still need to create

picture frames tell the stories

of a life that used to be

and melodies play softly

but the words we still need to create

do you remember the time

we watched the stars shine?

we were so untouchable

now things are different

how could I expect

we would grow so far apart?

now you're with someone

and I'm left with no one

how did it come to be like this?

picture frames tell the stories

of a life that used to be

and melodies play softly

but the words we still need to create

picture frames tell the stories

of a life that used to be

and melodies play softly

but the words we still need to create

you left me waiting

but you have taken

you left me waiting

but you have taken

you left me waiting

but you have taken

too long

picture frames tell the stories

of a life that used to be

and melodies play softly

but the words we still need to create

picture frames tell the stories

of a life that used to be

and melodies play softly

but the words we still need to create

so come back and play for me

come back and play for me.

Just a little caveat to my writing, 95% of what I write are lyrics so excuse the length and repetition and don't be deterred by that. Hope you enjoy. Feel free to comment. more..
