Dead Ends and Road Blocks

Dead Ends and Road Blocks

A Poem by Travis Prino

Riddles unanswered leaving me puzzled

dead ends and road blocks in the way of my struggle

nowhere to turn in this maze of emptiness

feeling the burn of life's secrets I've missed

soon I'll be running out of time

crossing over to the other side

wash your hands

free of all the dirt and filth

in between the best of man

watch tranquility

change the color of our hearts

from red of rose

to black and diseased

and then you'll find what's inside

then you'll find it all

beating me down so I'm left here with nothing

asking anyone just to show me something

something that I have yet to see

something that somehow has eluded me

soon you will witness me falling apart

soon you will witness the breaking of my heart

wash your hands

free of all the dirt and filth

in between the best of man

watch tranquility

change the color of our hearts

from red of rose

to black and diseased

and then you'll find what's inside

then you'll find it all

look at me

into my eyes

look at me

through my disguise

look at me

into my eyes

look at me

through my disguise

look at me

to see what you must find

wash you hands

free of all the dirt and filth

in between the best of man

watch tranquility

change the color of our hearts

from red of rose

to black and diseased

and then you'll find what's inside

then you'll find it all.
