Run Away

Run Away

A Poem by Travis Prino

I don't know where to go

it must be far away

so no one will know

all the mistakes that I've made

I'm packing a bag

getting ready to leave

there's not much I don't have

except my dignity, my dignity

I want to run away to a place I can call home

run away from being tired and alone

run away to a place I can call home

run away, just run away

I'm feeling dumb and confused

I can't find my way out

broken from being abused

I'm underneath a dark cloud

my head is lost in a fog

I've got nowhere to turn

I used to run but I crawl

through ash of bridges I've burned, bridges I've burned

I want to run away to a place I can call home

run away from being tired and alone

run away to a place I can call home

run away, just run away

the sun's shining down

beating upon my face

my smile turns to a frown

why am I such a disgrace?

I just want to be free

from all the people around

the way they're looking at me

has burnt my will to the ground, will to the ground

I want to run away to a place I can call home

run away from being tired and alone

run away to a place I can call home

run away, just run away

the way they look at me

I just want to be free

the way they look at me has burnt me down

it's burnt me down

I want to run away to a place I can call home

run away from being tired and alone

run away to a place I can call home

run away, just run away.

Just a little caveat to my writing, 95% of what I write are lyrics so excuse the length and repetition and don't be deterred by that. Hope you enjoy. Feel free to comment. more..
