Left Behind

Left Behind

A Poem by Travis Prino

All you ever wanted from me

Is right before your eyes

All you ever needed me to be

I hid behind these lies

all the things I never let you see

they still exist inside

all the things I said to set you free

I wish I could turn back time

I got left behind

I got thrown away

I got left behind

there's nothing more for me to say

I got left behind

you ran away

I got left behind

I need you more than ever today

all the times that you said "I love you"

I will never forget

I think of all the s**t that we've been through

and all that's left is regret

I know you feel the same way I do

I must get you to admit

there's only room left in this world for two

somehow we seem to fit

I got left behind

I got thrown away

I got left behind

there's nothing more for me to say

I got left behind

you ran away

I got left behind

I need you more than ever today

you feel it's time for you to let go

I have to stop you somehow

too many things that you still don't know

you just can't leave right now

I need more time the process is slow

but soon you'll figure out

without you here I live in sorrow

I just can't say it aloud

I got left behind

I got thrown away

I got left behind

there's nothing more for me to say

I got left behind

you ran away

I got left behind

I need you more than ever today

for everything I've ever done

this is my apology

for everything I've never done

this is my apology

I got left behind

I got thrown away

I got left behind

there's nothing more for me to say

I got left behind

you ran away

I got left behind

I need you more than ever today.

Just a little caveat to my writing, 95% of what I write are lyrics so excuse the length and repetition and don't be deterred by that. Hope you enjoy. Feel free to comment. more..
