Leaving

Leaving

A Poem by Travis Prino

I'll catch a plane to Cali

maybe stop in Arizona

find a place to stay in Maui

while I'm drinking a Corona

I'll travel across the country

trying to find a home

and maybe if I'm lucky

I won't end up all alone

I'm leaving this place, this house, this life

I don't know where I'll end up tonight

but I'm leaving behind what got me here

I'm moving forward through all my fear

I'll find my way to South Dakota

or even Santa Fe

I could wind up in Georgia

and there I might just stay

I'll see a lot of places

all to me unknown

I'll see a lot of faces

but true colors are never shown

I'm leaving this place, this house, this life

I don't know where I'll end up tonight

but I'm leaving behind what got me here

I'm moving forward through all my fear

will I come apart in Texas

 or stumble to Belize?

will I ever wake in Kansas

or fall asleep in The Keys?

I'll never know until I try

the world is calling me

I'm searching till the day I die

for somewhere I'll be happy

I'm leaving this place, this house, this life

I don't know where I'll end up tonight

but I'm leaving behind what got me here

I'm moving forward through all my fear

I'm leaving this place

I'm leaving this life

I'm leaving this place

and I'm leaving behind my fear.

Just a little caveat to my writing, 95% of what I write are lyrics so excuse the length and repetition and don't be deterred by that. Hope you enjoy. Feel free to comment. more..
