From Hero to Zero, and Back to HeroA Poem by Travis MitchellPlease leave comments:)
When that haunting Spector of the past
Glares through your soul like a looking glass You find your true self within Whether a life of loss or life of wins You're the one who fights the fight The only one who takes the fall The only one to win it all No one said we were born winners. Either way we're all sinners We take for granted the failure of rivals Sympathetic masks hiding devious smiles Underneath that cynical grin Lies that empty house of tin Lacking any light or loving warmth No heartfelt ending like Sally Forth But with every house there is a door. Light is outside this frigid core It take just a hand to turn a knob Clear your eyes of greedy sobs Let in the light of a life filled Earth relieve this house of it's grudging curse. This home now the innocent light of day. Welcoming in what it once beckoned away Watch broken equals pass you by. No tissues to hide their shame filled cries Step down the pedestal that puts you so high up Stoop to their level and just ask what's up They look up to you with teary eyes Reflecting in them the hell you despise. For once offer an open hand No longer for a swing or fistful of sand. But for another chance to attempt a win. © 2015 Travis MitchellReviews
