Dark and Sleepless Nights

Dark and Sleepless Nights

A Poem by Travie
"

This is a poem I wrote one night when I couldn't sleep.

"
As the light fades to darkness,
Here I am, wide awake,
Under a blanket of the brightest stars,
Alone with my thoughts, finally at peace.

Thinking of all these days gone by,
Knowing tomorrow will be just the same,
Nothing changes in this deceitful life,
I know I'm alive, but I'm also dead inside.

Will my future be one of happiness,
Or will it be full of fear and emptiness?
Only time will be able to tell,
What lies ahead for me in the abyss.

Smiling behind the tears,
Of sorrow and the pain of the world,
Broken and slowly falling to ashes,
I'm just a product of the unspoken devil.

The unknown of future is what scares us but maybe it is that feeling of fright that drives us to do something worth remembering. Future is scary but thats why its exciting just like a roller coaster. It will be scary but fun as well.

I don't really understand quite what you are explaining, but I got many beautiful images and u say some interesting things like "unspoken evil." Its a nice piece of poetry, keep up the good work!

The depth of your feelings shines through in your poetry. Beautiful rhyme scheme and sentiment. Your poetry is sad and you call yourself a lost soul. I'm not trying to evangelize, but God is waiting for you to go talk to Him, re-discover his love for you. You don't have to feel dead inside any longer. He's been waiting for you to take the initiative and just say 'Hi'.

A poem like a gaze that glides slowly ... over the ruins of a building ... waiting for an opportunity ... to raise it again. Nice ...

Recently I learned that many languages in the world do not have future tense like Mandarin in China. They believe in the present. They give it everything. It is also observed they take care of the future as well much better than others. May be focusing on the present has all the answers rather than wondering about the future. I did enjoy your words and can relate to your feelings very well as I myself have faced such questions all the time. But finally trying to strike a balance.
