Living Each Day Like It's Your LastA Poem by TravieThis is a poem I wrote after taking a class on health.
Here in this hospital bed I lay,
The doctors just broke the news, Never have words hit my heart so hard, "You have six or less months left of life." I can feel it as my soul starts to weaken, The tears fall down my face like a vast river flows, It is not until now that I start to realize, Never should the gift of life be taken for granted. I close my eyes as I look back, Thinking of how things could have been different, Maybe it's true when people say, Everything in life happens for a reason. We never know when we'll meet our higher power, So we must live each day like it's our only one, Because the truth does not lie, Everything we have ever known comes to a fast end.
