Living Each Day Like It's Your Last

Living Each Day Like It's Your Last

A Poem by Travie
"

This is a poem I wrote after taking a class on health.

"
Here in this hospital bed I lay,
The doctors just broke the news,
Never have words hit my heart so hard,
"You have six or less months left of life."
I can feel it as my soul starts to weaken,
The tears fall down my face like a vast river flows,
It is not until now that I start to realize,
Never should the gift of life be taken for granted.
I close my eyes as I look back,
Thinking of how things could have been different,
Maybe it's true when people say,
Everything in life happens for a reason.
We never know when we'll meet our higher power,
So we must live each day like it's our only one,
Because the truth does not lie,
Everything we have ever known comes to a fast end.

It is so important to find meaning in your existence. You are here for a reason; to positively impact someone. How heartbreaking, yet freeing to know that your time on this earth is nearly done, and you can focus on living out each day to it's fullest. No more time to worry about having enough money for retirement, just hurry up, make that bucket list and get busy. No more time to waste with toxic people or situations. Just brush the dust off from your shoes and experience t his world while you still can. :) Bravo, Travis.

Six months to live? What impact would I make on this world before I go? How many lives would I touch? How would I be able to fulfill what He wants me to do? Not afraid to meet my Maker. He can take me anytime. Afraid that I am not worthy yet.
